Photon Report was founded on May 6, 2017 after a long debate as to how optics and photonics research can be presented to both scientists and the general population interested in science, alike. Popular news articles highlight exciting research, but many times too many details get lost and readers are left with only a few buzz words.
After finishing my doctorate at the ETH Zurich, I worked as a science editor with Nature Communications for two years. With this blog, I continue my personal goal of making science accessible by sharing my passion for optics and photonics. In the interest of the accessibility of scientific research, I will choose to only highlight open access articles. All views are my own.
